This position will be the primary contact in managing the first comprehensive rhinology specimen and quality of life database. Lead the screening of patients for eligibility using Epic, explaining details of research studies to patients and families and obtaining informed content from patients, enrolling subjects, data collection and entry, and ensuring the accuracy of all study documentation. Schedule patient visits and any necessary testing or quality-of-life surveys. Monitor patients per protocol requirements and ensure adherence to protocol requirements. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects.
The position is contingent on continued funding.Job Description
Under general supervision, Recruit, enroll, and consent patients for various research projects in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology; coordinated research-related testing with the patients and entered all data in a timely fashion in university and industry databases.
Extract data from clinical records and enter and maintain data in university and sponsor databases.
Responsible for all regulatory filing, maintaining active status of studies with IRB, CTSRMC, and other necessary regulatory boards, and completing adverse event reports to regulatory authorities.
This is an on-campus position; you will be in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital (HUP). This is not a remote job.
Communicate with patients to adhere to the study calendar outlined in the protocol and ensure all study visits and procedures are completed according to protocol. Phone interviews and recruitment will be performed as necessary. Time in the operating room during surgeries may be required per study protocols.
Work closely with the Principal Investigator (s), study team, and sponsors to communicate research progress, complete case report forms, and address queries in a timely fashion.
Communicate with the Clinical Research Unit and monitors to coordinate and prepare for meetings and site visits (site evaluations, initiations, monitoring, closure, and audits)
