The Associate Director is responsible for managing the nation’s premier cohort-based executive doctorate program in higher education management. The Associate Director is responsible for providing a wide range of financial, technical, and support services to students and faculty, including advising students on coursework, posting grades, tracking performance, course rostering, and program forecasting. The Associate Director will also manage the full cycle admissions process, including application review, information session planning, and orientation planning. Additionally, the Associate Director will manage the program’s budget, including tracking, balancing, and projecting, and serve as the direct supervisor to the Program Coordinator. This role will work with the Director on evaluating the curriculum and consulting with faculty on teaching practices and academic delivery, as well as on engaging with alumni of the program.Job Description
Program Management: Provide a wide range of financial and technical advising, as well as other support services, to students and faculty; Track performance of students in the program; Post grades for students; Advise students on their courseload and provide recommendations on courses; Oversee the course rostering process; Oversee and manage academic records; Prepare forecast analyses of the program; Notify and confirm students’ eligibility and registration for graduation; Serve as a primary resource for 1-2 cohorts in the program; Interpret and apply policies; Forge a strong partnership with the Office of Student Success and Student Records.
Admissions & Marketing: Manage the full cycle admissions process; Ideate, develop, and recommend admissions & marketing strategies; Oversee orientation planning and management, including supporting virtual information sessions; Manage and read applications using Slate; Oversee and engage with prospective and admitted students’ inquiries, programmatic needs, and process questions; Oversee and help maintain marketing materials, including the website, print materials, and electronic materials; Serve as a spokesperson for the program, present at conferences, and visit schools and colleges; Collaborate with Admissions, Communications, and Financial Aid consistently.
Budget Management: Independently manage the program’s budget, including tracking, balancing, and projecting; Review budget reports monthly with the Director and ensure accurate charges and allocations; Oversee expenditure tracking; prepare budget forecasts.
Staff Management: Serve as the direct supervisor to the Program Coordinator; Meet regularly with the Program Coordinator to set goals; Provide ongoing guidance and support to sure their professional growth and development; Offer continuous training, both formal and information, and deliver ongoing feedback in a timely fashion; Serve as a resource and sounding board.
Instructional Design: Meet regularly with the Director to discuss the program and work to evaluate the curriculum and address gaps in the curriculum as needed; Consult with faculty on teaching practices and academic delivery that meets the values of the School and program.
Assist the Director in fundraising efforts with the Alumni Advisory Board; Consult and collaborate with Development & Alumni Relations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
