Job Description Summary
The Assistant Director of Communications will produce and supply content to be used across digital platforms in support of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Online Learning Initiative (OLI). This role will primarily support the development of teaching-focused content to support a wide variety of instructors including faulty at Penn. Responsibilities include attending CTL’s instructor workshops and creating a formalized system of note taking and documentation utilized to create an engaging and accessible archive of teaching support materials, writing and editing web features, and creating other digital content as assigned. This position is responsible for updating and maintaining the center’s website. The successful candidate will promote instructor programing and services offered by the center through the creation of digital content using graphic design templates.
The successful candidate should be a self-starter, enjoy working in a team environment, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and exhibit a growth mindset. A key factor of success for this position is understanding and appropriately communicating with the faculty audience. Prior experience or interest in pedagogy, web design, or Canva is a plus.
This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and receive support from pedagogy team members.
