The Coordinator plays a key role in the University’s support for a large number of students/alumni applying to medical and dental school. Attention to detail as well as excellent organizational and communication skills are needed to keep applicants informed throughout the admissions process and to process their letters of recommendation. The Coordinator is an integral member of a 5-person team, contributing to discussions of ways to improve student services.
The Coordinator creates and maintains a database of applicants to medical/dental school, oversees the processing and uploading of letters of recommendation, develops and administers an annual applicant survey, and creates printed/online informational materials. We are looking for someone who is highly capable with Excel, has excellent writing ability, and can process large amounts of information with attention to detail and deadlines. The ability to proactively solve problems and troubleshoot is highly valued.
The Coordinator will also have extensive phone, email, and walk-in contact with students, alumni, faculty, and administrators and answer complex questions about office procedures and policies. We are a high-volume office and seek someone who enjoys interacting with a diverse student body in a professional, helpful manner. The Coordinator collaborates with other Coordinators at Career Services to hire, train, and oversee office work-study students and provides all student workers with professional feedback and direction.
The Coordinator reserves rooms for events such as student workshops or information sessions, managing registration for them in our Handshake system. The Coordinator also manages the scheduling of advising appointments in Handshake.Job Description
