Salary Information: $44,000 – $46,200, commensurate with experience
Department Summary
The Study Abroad Office is responsible for coordinating the university’s study abroad and exchange programs. Study Abroad has a mandate to expand student participation and to integrate study abroad into the UNT curriculum. We aim to develop new opportunities to meet the unique needs of the UNT community and increase student access to global educational experiences.
Position Overview
This position is primarily responsible for the coordination of academically sound, cost effective, safe, and accessible study abroad programs. This position aims to increase UNT student participation in study abroad opportunities by coordinating and promoting high quality/high impact exchange and affiliate programs, recruiting and advising student participants, and providing ongoing support to students throughout their program. In addition, this position will have pan- office responsibility for coordinating or supporting one or more special initiatives and serve as a back-up passport acceptance agent.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs,
counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education,
training and experience.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. This is an on campus position with limited flexibility for remote work. Some evening or weekend hours may be required for special events or travel.
Driving University Vehicle: No

Job Duties
Oversees outbound and inbound student recruiting and advising for a portfolio of affiliate and exchange programs within an assigned region. Develops and applies required expertise on application and registration processes, visa requirements, financial aid and scholarship resources, health and safety concerns, and resources for cultural adaptation. Serves as primary point of contact for students, parents, academic advisors, and partner universities/program providers before, during, and after student participation. Develops and/or facilitates orientations/training sessions/workshops and assessment tools for program participants.
Markets and promotes all programs by representing the Study Abroad Office at campus events (new student orientations, student organization meetings, etc.), program information sessions, tabling events, and in social media. Develops and maintains assigned program brochures, print materials, and application documents/processes.
Maintains the integrity (validity and completeness) of information and records in the data management system for all assigned programs and participants.
Serves as the primary point of contact on assigned programs and processes for faculty, staff, and outside institutions. Produces reports on student and program records using Excel, Peoplesoft and the internal data management system for tracking and assessment purposes. Evaluates data to revise program offerings and processes to improve services.
Establishes and implements a strategy for meeting department goals tied to one or more assigned special projects/areas of responsibility. Establishes connections and collaborates with campus partners and outside organizations to advance special project.
