Department Summary
The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas offers both undergraduate and graduate programs and is committed to carrying out state-of-the-art research across a number of areas of physics such as materials physics, photonics, computational physics, high energy physics, atomic and nuclear physics, plasma physics, theoretical and quantum physics, and astrophysics. With approximately 20 research active faculty members, over 70 graduate students are mentored in research. More details about the department can be found at www.physics.unt.edu.

Position Summary
The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position with Dr. Yuzhe Xiao. The successful candidate will work in the broad areas of mid-infrared optics, thermal radiation, ultrafast optics, nonlinear optics, and thermal physics. A background in experimental ultrafast optics is preferred, but not required.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Physics or a related field; research experience in the focus areas of the position; strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Background in experimental ultrafast optics preferred
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate
Area of Specialty
Mid-infrared optics, thermal radiation, ultrafast optics, nonlinear optics, and thermal physics.
