Position Summary |
LINEBERGER COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER IS HIRING TWO GMP RESEARCH SPECIALISTS (20056155 & 20056154). BY APPLYING TO THIS POSTING YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR BOTH POSITIONS. The person in this position will be responsible for the production of human cellular therapy products intended for administration to patients enrolled in clinical trials following all regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes. Person will take lead in developing SOPs and collaborate with investigators in translation of bench-scale techniques to large-scale production. Production will be guided by specific procedures and accurately documented in completely filled out manufacturing records. Person will be responsible for sampling and analysis for quality control purposes, product and sample inventory storage, shipping of product/samples, materials tracking and management, and data collection/reporting are additional functions in this position. Person will take part in developing SOPs and will work with team members to assure compliance with regulatory requirements. Position will also be responsible for guiding the performance and advising the work of Research Specialist – Contributing positions within the lab. Additionally, they will be trained on performing Quality Control (QC) assays on manufactured samples completed by coworkers. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
This individual must be proficient in documentation/record keeping. They must have knowledge or experience with aseptic techniques and mammalian cell culture and the use of viral vectors for cellular transduction. Able to work well in a team environment. They must be able to use either an Apple or PC computer. They must be able to maintain accurate records either electronically or manually. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Willing to work in cleanroom environment with potentially infectious materials. Demonstrated skills in the operation and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment (e.g. automated immunomagnetic separation devices). Proficiency with electronic document storage and proficiency with MS Office. |
