The College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of North Carolina Greensboro is seeking an Assistant Dean for Budget and Operations. The Assistant Dean for Budget and Operations serves as a principal deputy of the Dean for administration in long-range budgetary and operational planning for the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA). The Assistant Dean is responsible for structuring and overseeing the management of a $23-million budget. CVPA administers four schools (Art, Dance, Music, and Theatre); produces more than 400 performances, exhibits, lectures and other events; and has operational management of spaces in 15 facilities. Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s Degree, or a bachelor’s degree and an equivalent amount of experience, is required. At least eight (8) years of progressively more responsible experience in large scale financial administration and planning, preferably in a higher education environment.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate with others in a team focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or CPA or higher level of degree and/or specialized training beyond a Master’s degree will be taken into consideration. Candidates with familiarity with budget processes and policies in a higher education environment (with those of the University of North Carolina System is strongly desired); familiarity with Banner Finance and Banner HR reporting systems or similar financial and HR reporting systems; and experience working with the arts will be given preference.
