Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine, Social) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. The Scholarship Program Manager plays a pivotal role in the management, coordination, and administration of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s scholarship programs to support the academic and professional development of pharmacy students. The position will have direct responsibility for ensuring proper and full utilization of scholarship funding, including PharmD scholarships awarded by the School/Foundation, student travel awards, Golden Mortar Awards, and Global Pharmacy Scholarships. The position will serve as the primary point of contact for scholarships and oversee the implementation of value-add programming associated with the Signature Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, admissions staff, donors, and alumni, to ensure the successful implementation of scholarship initiatives. The position will optimize processes for transparency, accuracy, and efficiency utilizing the Foundation’s scholarship management software, the University’s GradStar student administration application, and the Davie donor database. Additionally, the position supports timely outward communication about scholarship processes.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, as well as the ability to identify and implement process improvements resulting in increased efficiencies and accuracy of data. The individual in this position must be able to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate records. Must be highly organized.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
Experience in an academic scholarship program preferred.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
