The University of New Mexico’s Office for Academic Personnel is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking manager. The Office for Academic Personnel serves as a central service center for administrators, faculty, and graduate assistantship holders regarding academic personnel human resources needs.
Under the direction of the Senior Vice Provost, this position is responsible for managing and directing academic human resources activities in the Office for Academic Personnel. Serves as the primary contact for all academic human resources activities and collaborates closely with Academic Affairs in matters concerning faculty and graduate assistantship holders. This position supports the recruitment, selection, appointment, promotion, retention and oversight of a diverse, highly talented academic personnel within academic units on UNM main and branch campuses.
The manager will lead, guide, and supervise a team of HR Analysts and support personnel. The manager will also lead process improvement initiatives and provide expert guidance on academic personnel matters. The manager will provide collaborative and consultative advice on a variety of issues concerning faculty and graduate employment contracts, interpretation of personnel rules, and implementation of policies and procedures.
The Office for Academic Personnel works closely with the Provost and the Provost’s Leadership team, the deans of each school/college, branch campus chancellors, and HR Department staff to resolve issues that affect faculty members and graduate assistantship holders and provide seamless service and support to the University.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Bachelor’s degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
