University Libraries comprises Lied Library and four branch libraries and we are a gateway to more than 80,000 electronic journals, 1.2 million volumes, and 1.4 million e-books. The Research and Education (RED) Division has six departments (Library Liaisons Program, Educational Initiatives, Research, Innovation & Creation, Access Services, and Safety & Loss Prevention, Teacher Development & Resources Library), three branch libraries (Architecture Studies Library, Music Library, and Teacher Development & Resources Library), and has 40 staff members, of which 21 are library academic faculty. ROLE of the POSITION
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries seeks a collaborative and creative librarian who is ready to share expertise in information literacy and instructional design to reach students enrolled in online courses. Reporting to the Head of Educational Initiatives, the Teaching and Learning Librarian for Online Education will join an innovative and collaborative team that supports undergraduate learning, online education, co-curricular outreach to students, and faculty development.
The Teaching and Learning Librarian for Online Education will collaborate with library faculty and academic faculty to design tools and learning experiences that enhance lessons in information literacy and critical thinking delivered to UNLV students primarily in an online environment. The incumbent will participate in the planning, development, and assessment of the Libraries’ instruction services in face-to-face and online environments. The successful candidate will serve as a central contact with academic and non-academic departments that support undergraduate student learning, especially the Office of Online Education.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work in a complex, changing environment with flexibility and creativity. The incumbent will be able to share examples of working effectively with a group towards accomplishing goals such as in department, division, campus, and committee meetings with students, staff, faculty, and administration. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of inclusive pedagogies and instruction practices in order to engage students who are historically underrepresented and underserved in traditional academic libraries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires an earned Master’s Degree in library or information science from an American Library Association accredited program by the date of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SALARY RANGE
This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant (Rank II, tenure-track). Minimum salary is $65,000. Salary is competitive with those at similarly situated institutions and dependent upon labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
