The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Assistant III, UNLV Service Learning and Leadership [R0139696]
ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Service Learning & Leadership, this position serves as the office manager for the Office of Service Learning & Leadership (SLL), which includes managing two adjacent physical locations. This position oversees operations of the SLL front desk and directly supervises approximately four hourly student staff. This position supports financial management processes for the office including spending reconciliation, travel and spend authorizations, PCard reconciliation, and annual budgeting processes; orders office supplies, manages onboarding for new full-time and student employees, supports grant writing and management, coordinates with vendors for supplies and services, coordinates with community partners to plan student service experiences, maintains inventory records, maintains the UNLV Basic Needs pantry space and stock, manages databases, places work orders on behalf of staff, and may be the first point of contact for students in crisis seeking assistance and resources. This position manages workday hire and payroll processes for over 30 hourly student staff and assists with tracking budget expenses and providing workday financial reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

SALARY
Grade 27 Step 1, salary $41,634.72. “Step” means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
