Scientists, Omaha Campus.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to join one of the top tier schools of nursing in academic
standing and federal research funding in the country and ranked 10th in BSN programs by the U.S. News and World Report in 2021. The College
of Nursing in the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the states only public academic health sciences center, desires Nurse Scientists
for the largest of their five campuses, the Omaha campus.
The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing (CON), Omaha Division is seeking an Associate Professor or
Professor Nurse Scientist. This research-intensive 12-month position includes the opportunity for an Endowed Professorship or Endowed Chair
appointment. The nurse scientists should have a history of interdisciplinary collaboration with a sustained record of funded research, a
national presence, and experience mentoring junior nurse scientists and graduate students.
The UNMC CON has numerous resources to
assist faculty research to succeed with their research trajectory and has a cadre of research-focused faculty who are energetic, passionate,
and experts in their respective program of study. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with CON team of nurse scientists
statewide, including three divisions in rural Nebraska. The CON team of nurse scientists impact healthcare and healthcare policy through
their innovative research.
The candidate will supervise graduate students with their scholarly/research projects, serve on
dissertation committees, and participate in synchronous/asynchronous instruction. Service to the college and to the nursing profession is
part of the tripartite mission.

the addition of new buildings on four of its campuses, including the Center for Nursing Science in the Omaha campus.
The College of Nursing Omaha Division is located on the main campus of The University of Nebraska Medical
Center’. The vibrant, bustling campus is situated in the heart of midtown Omaha.
Omaha Division nursing students have access to state
of the art classrooms and laboratories. Opportunities for interprofessional education with students from pharmacy, medicine, allied health
professions, public health await nursing students in the Omaha Division. The Lied Transplant Center, Munroe-Meyer Institute, and other
university facilities, including the new Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute, the iEXCEL-Davis Global Center, and the Fred & Pamela
Buffett Cancer Institute provide clinical experiences outside of the acute care setting. Nebraska Medicine, their primary clinical partner,
offers a wide array of learning opportunities in acute care.
Student interaction space, hospital lab space, skills lab space,
computer lab access and a state-of-the- art simulation center promote both classroom learning and clinical decision making for nursing
students. Students from all colleges use the simulation center, clinical skills area, and classrooms in both the College of Nursing and the
Center for Nursing Science buildings.
Undergraduate students are admitted into the traditional (two year) program every year, as well
as accelerated students (one year program). The Omaha campus also has graduate students in the master’s, PhD, and DNP programs.

Omaha, with a population of just over 460,000 is the perfect combination of down-home charm
and urban chic. The area offers a stable economy, thriving arts and culture scene and a diverse choice of housing ranging from well
established homes on shaded streets to waterfront urban high rises to newer suburban developments. Rounded out by a low cost of living
(10.2% below the national average), unemployment below the national average and attractions and activities for the entire family. The city
