Essential Functions
This position supports the Office
of Academic Advising and Field Experiences and the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. The Staff Assistant in the Office of
Academic Advising manages all incoming requests to the office (in-person, phone, email, or remote technologies). This position provides
administrative support to two directors and four academic advisors for functions related to academic advising. Under direct supervision of
the Director of Academic Advising, this position serves at the first point of contact for the advising office. This position will be trained
in multiple UNO systems, including but not limited to PeopleSoft, MavTrack, DocuSign, Zoom, etc. This position provides administrative
support to the Office of Field Experiences as necessary, and completes other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties
Manage internal and external communication with
students:
First point of contact for students, staff, faculty and community members through face to face, phone and email
communication.
Accurately responds to program inquires in a timely manner. Works with New Student and Family Programs to schedule
prospective student appointments.
Utilizes all available technology to serve students and advisors: PeopleSoft, MavTrack, DocuSign,
Zoom, Microsoft Office, etc.
Provides client service for both academic advising and field experiences.
Monitors university and
college requirements, policies and procedures in order to provide front line service to students, faculty, staff, and community
partners
Administrative support
Administrative support for the Director of Academic Advising/ Certification Officer and 4
academic advisors including but not limited to: assisting with recruitment/ retention lists, updating academic worksheets, supporting
student enrollment, and managing calendars as necessary.
Assists with the organization and preparation of materials for functions
related to the Field Experience office: Clinical Practice Symposium, Clinical Practice Assessment Presentation, Professional development
workshop, and Clinical Practice Supervisor Training. Pulls field experiences data as necessary.
Manages Academic Review Committee
appeals and the NDE TOPS substitute teaching certificate.
Data entry for test results (Praxis Core and content exams). Manages student
test results for more than 35 teaching endorsements. Manages follow up emails once scores are received.
Manages scheduling staff
meetings, coordinating agendas, and scheduling rooms.
Issues permits per advisor guidance.
Manages logistics for new student
orientation.
Data and Student Records.
Coordinates student records, new and transfer student orientation, wait list
information, creates permits, manages student records.
Works with multiple CEHHS units on student, faculty and staff program
information.
