We are seeking a talented Grant Writer – Lead to join the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) Office of Research
Support. The grant writer – lead assists and encourages faculty in securing extramural research funding; manages the grant writing process
leading up to submission; facilitates inter-college/university partnerships related to research development; works with administrators and
faculty to enhance the research enterprise in the College of Education and Human Development and across campus; assists with providing
grantsmanship training for faculty, staff, and students; and locates and circulates research funding
opportunities.
Responsibilities
Provides proposal development support for grant proposals. These responsibilities
may include leading and coordinating the roles of multiple investigators; initiating and contributing to planning meetings; interpreting
proposal guidelines; providing detailed critiques and editing of draft documents; drafting non-technical materials; compiling and preparing
materials to meet sponsor requirements; conferring with sponsor personnel as necessary; building proposal budgets; ensuring compliance with
funding guidelines; and managing team tasks and deadlines.
Additional responsibilities include networking with other grant
professionals on and off campus; liaising between the PI/team and the Division of Research, Innovation, and Impact; serving as an expert
resource and point of contact on pre-award matters; and representing CEHD at the campus level on pre-award grant-related
matters.
Successful candidates should have excellent communication, editing, and proofreading skills. They will be persuasive
communicators with exceptional organizational and time management skills. They must demonstrate attention to detail and critical thinking as
well as the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Familiarity with grant management software and databases is a plus.
Successful candidates must also show commitment to excellent customer service, confidentiality, integrity, and University
values.
This is a hybrid opportunity.
Salary
Salary Range: $65,000 – $73,000 annually

Minimum
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 4 years
of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
