About the Job:
This position will help oversee research in family medicine/primary care clinics in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s (DFMCH) PBRN. This position will supervise and provide guidance to a team of research professionals who support clinical faculty, residents, and medical students pursuing research. Research projects vary and include clinical research, behavioral health research, quality improvement, implementation science, EHR-based research, and community projects that have a variety of funding sources. The role will work with the PBRN manager to develop training, standard operating procedures, and best practices to support this research. The position will also provide support and leadership to the development and facilitation of research projects within the PBRN and the expansion of the broader network.
The employee in this position will have a self-starting work ethic to build awareness of learning practice-based research philosophies and methods, work to establish a collaborative research network, coordinate and implement research protocols, facilitate research studies, provide writing and editing support, and manage other assigned projects that support the research mission of the PBRN.
The position requires research knowledge as well as flexibility and the ability to work on a wide variety of projects, including clinical research studies, practice-based research projects, and process improvement studies. This is a hybrid position and travel will be required to support multiple clinic locations. Annual attendance at a national conference may also be required. This is a 2-year position with the possibility of extension.
This position is based out of Minneapolis, MN and is eligible for hybrid work from home and/or on campus work dependent upon individual performance and organizational need, though some regular on-site work will be expected. Because the University of Minnesota is a land-grant institution that serves the state, residing in Minnesota is typically required.

Expected Starting Salary Range: Upper $70’s depending on qualifications and experience.

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. We sponsor five fellowship programs-sports medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, behavioral medicine, clinical informatics, and human sexuality- and offer continuing medical education opportunities.
