Working under the direction of Drs. Martin Felices and Jeffrey Miller, you will engage in research dealing with human NK cell biology and evaluating biologics to treat hematological and solid tumor malignancies.
The postdoctoral candidate in question will work on projects evaluating novel biologics designed to amplify NK cell immunotherapy in the context of hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. The projects will delve on a variety of Natural Killer cell biology assays, both in vitro and in vivo in xenogeneic models (60% of effort). CRISPR editing of tumor cell lines will be necessary to assess specific function of biologics. The candidate will also be involved in production of these molecules.
The candidate will also work on separate application of these biologic molecules, focusing on their ability to prevent allogeneic rejection of cellular products used for immunotherapy (20% of effort). This will involve NK cell functional assays, but also GVHD type assays focusing on specific rejection of immune cellular products.
The candidate will also be expected to analyze literature, prepare and present data, collaborate with other groups, help train and work with graduate students, and generate reports or publications (20% of effort).
All required qualifications must be included in the application materials
Required Qualifications:
-PhD
-Experience with CRISPR editing, xenotransplantation, and graft rejection models aslo required for position.
-Experience with Multi-colour flow cytometry (10+ channels) with Flowjo and GraphPad also a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Publication record with minimum 2 years experience NK cell biology and use of biologics. -The candidate will be independent and have broad knowledge of the NK cell biology field as well as experience with isolation and manipulation of NK cells
-Experience with a broad spectrum of NK cell biology assays highly desired.
-Experience with transduction/transfection techniques (retrovirus/electroporation) will be a plus.
