Summary
The WISE RP Associate Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of programmatic efforts, including designing, implementing, evaluating and assessing the co-curricular initiatives of the WISE RP community. The associate director supports first-year students’ transition to college and the intellectual, social, and emotional development of first- and second-year students. The associate director liaises with campus partners and provides supervision and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate staff. Guided by WISE RP’s mission, tenets and goals, the associate director works collaboratively with the director to create an impactful community of emerging STEM leaders as the WISE RP commences its third decade. This position reports to the Director of the WISE-RP and is full-time/ in person with potential for a hybrid work schedule.
Who We Are
The Women in Science and Engineering Residence Program (WISE RP) is a residential living-learning program in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. WISE RP’s mission is to assist gender minoritized students interested in majoring in or pursuing a career in one of the STEM fields in their transition from high school to college. The WISE RP links students with resources and opportunities that will support their academic and personal pursuits, assist students’ holistic development while creating enriching cultural and educational opportunities to engage within and across differences. Each cohort of the WISE RP is composed of approximately 105 first-year students, 25 second-year students serving as peer mentors to the first-year students, and 4 resident advisors who live and learn together as they navigate their STEM journeys. The WISE RP strives to ensure community members leave the experience with increased self-efficacy, enhanced leadership skills, and a greater sense of how they hope to make an impact on their respective fields of study.
