General Summary of Position:
The Department of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position, with specialization in areas related to child maltreatment, to begin September 2024.
Responsibilities involve maintaining an active program of research, including pursuit of external funding; teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses; supervising theses/dissertations; and engaging in departmental and university service.
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is a rapidly growing research university and was recently ranked by the Wall Street Journal as the No. 1 public institution of higher education in Massachusetts. The Department of Psychology is one of the largest academic units on campus, with an on-campus and online B.A., a master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Studies, and a doctoral program in Applied Psychology and Prevention Science. The Department is one of 12 departments and schools in the University’s College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (FAHSS). The College has seen significant growth in recent years, including hiring over 60 new faculty, a 70% growth in funded research expenditures, and the addition of several new interdisciplinary graduate programs. The campus has a variety of research centers including the Centers for Population Health, Center for Health Statistics, Center of Biomedical and Health Research in Data Sciences, Center for Program Evaluation, Center for Women & Work, Center for Autism Research and Education, and Center for Community Research and Engagement. The department has strong ties to the community of Lowell, a mid-sized city with a diverse population located 25 miles northwest of Boston.
