General Summary: The Senior Accountant/Sr. Analyst reports to the Associate Controller and is responsible for a variety of accounting functions that support the production of financial statements that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”). The position also assists in the monthly, quarterly and fiscal year close of the general ledger along with the annual General Purpose and Uniform Guidance audits. Recommends updates to business processes as needed and provides ongoing training for staff. The position requires interaction with many academic and financial areas of the campus and colleagues of the University of Massachusetts President’s Office. It requires expertise in the university accounting system, standard accounting practices and procedures, as well as knowledge of the many Federal, State, and Trustee regulations, policies and procedures.Examples of Duties: First Concentration: Fixed Asset Management
