General Summary:
The Sports Information Assistant will support the Sports Information Director in maintaining and increasing the visibility and reputation of UMass Boston Athletics and its nineteen (19) varsity sports teams with UMass Boston constituencies, as well as national, regional, and local news and social media. The Sports Information Assistant is primarily responsible for game coverage (scorekeeping, reporting, and recordkeeping of athletic events) of a wide range of sports and athletic events, along with coverage of awards and other news and feature stories as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, master’s degree preferred in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications or a closely related field, and a minimum of one-three years of work experience in brand marketing, public relations and/or advertising required, preferably in collegiate athletics and/or professional athletics, required. Experience with Photoshop, lnDesign, Premier and other Adobe Creative Suite software preferred. Strong understanding of athletics branding, marketing and advertising principles preferred. A valid and current driver’s license is required throughout the duration of employment in this position. The incumbent is required to travel for sporting events, as directed.
