General Summary: The Director of Advisor Development & Advising Resources advances the University’s commitment to holistic student success, develops systems for aligned and coordinated academic advising on campus, and supports major student success initiatives within the Student Equity, Access, and Success (SEAS) unit. The incumbent will play a critical role in promoting student success and ensuring that faculty and professional advisors, academic coaches, peer educators/mentors, and student-facing staff across campus have the support they need to advise, coach, and mentor students in a way that is asset-based and values students’ cultural, racial, gender, social class, ability, linguistic, and experiential diversity. The Director will develop advising resources related to advisor onboarding, professional development, and training, as well as creating a campus-wide advising online sitemap and hub for students and campus partners. The Director reports to the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Equity, Access, and Success (SEAS).Examples of Duties: Develop and oversee a university-wide academic advising development program and resource center for professional and faculty advisors, and academic coaches, including but not limited to:
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in higher education, counseling, student personnel administration, student development and advising, instructional support, or a closely related discipline, and a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of professional leadership experience in advising, academic support, or student service program administration required. Experience in an urban, public research university preferred.
