The University of Maine at Augusta
is seeking qualified applicants to teach a variety of life-science classes online. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence
in teaching and to developing an innovative curriculum. The successful applicant may also develop and teach laboratory courses for
non-majors and courses in their area of expertise. Potential courses include nutrition, general biology I/II (BIO 110, BIO 111), and other

Required Qualifications: Successful applicants will have a background in the sciences and a master’s degree or
higher.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior college level teaching experience, using new technologies in teaching,
teaching online, discipline related work experience, and teaching non-traditional students preferred. Experience working with diverse
student populations and interest in contributing to UMA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and previous college teaching experience, in accordance
with the PATFA contract.
