The University of Guam is looking for an

UNIT DESCRIPTION:
The School of Education provides initial preparation and continuing education
opportunities to aspiring teachers, and other professional personnel engaged in educational activities in Guam, the Western Pacific region,
and the U.S. mainland. Education opportunities are accomplished primarily through classroom instruction and related practicum activities
monitored and coordinated by teaching faculty members. An integral part of the School of Education’s mission is becoming the academic,
research, and service resource center for Guam and the greater Micronesian areas. The School of Education is currently accredited by the
Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).
CHARACTER OF DUTIES:
The successful
candidate will oversee the Masters in Education (M.Ed.) in Administration and Supervision program, teach graduate level courses in school
administration and supervision, adapt and teach courses using online delivery, engage in active research agenda, and work with schools as
well as conducting service in School, the University and the communities served. In addition, the selected candidate will chair and serve on
thesis committees, participate in the development of school administration and supervision programs appropriate to the needs of Guam and
Micronesia, prepare program reviews, and assist in the accreditation efforts of the School.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum: (1) An earned doctorate from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent in one or more of
the following: School administration and supervision; Educational leadership; Educational management and policy or closely related areas;
(2) three years experience as a certified K-12 building administrator under the U.S. educational system in the U.S., Western Pacific, or
Asia; and (3) demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning. Must be willing to
teach online.
Preferred: Preference will be given to candidates with: (1) knowledge and/or experiences in school
administration and supervision in multicultural setting, particularly in the Pacific region, and teacher education, practicum supervision,
student advisement, and chairing thesis committees; (2) experience in the School of Education interdisciplinary teaching areas; (3)
experience with assessment and accreditation in higher education such as the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) or
the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP); (4) experience in online course writing, teaching and assessment, and
an active research agenda; (5) have multiple K-12 experiences or certifications, and more diverse backgrounds; (6) professional experience
in education at the elementary and/or secondary level, including a minimum of three years experience in classroom teaching and other
combination of K-12 educational experience; and (7) Experience working and teaching in online learning programs.

Police and Court
Clearance: Pursuant to Public Law No. 28-24 and Executive Order 2005-34, applicants selected for a position are required to provide
original police and court (Superior Court of Guam) clearances of no more than three (3) months old prior to commencement of employment.
Off-island applicants must obtain clearances from their place of residence. Applicants are responsible for fees associated with obtaining
the clearances.
WORK ELIGIBILITY:

Section 25103, Chapter 25, Title 10 of the Guam Code Annotated requires college or university
employees to undergo a physical examination, to include a test for tuberculosis (skin or x-ray), prior to employment and at least annually
thereafter. A report of such examination must be conducted by a licensed physician within a state or territory of the United States and must
be submitted upon request.
Federal law requires presentation of eligibility to work in the United States within
seventy-two (72) hours of reporting for employment. Specifically, 8 USC 1324A requires the employer to verify the identity and eligibility
to work in the United States of all newly hired employees. The University of Guam is required to comply with this law on a
