The Health & Counseling Center (HCC) is a fully integrated, on-campus, accredited college health center that provides a wide range of medical and mental health services. The University of Denver is deeply committed to Inclusive Excellence and Equity and seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who possesses cultural humility and a strong understanding of systems of oppression and can integrate those perspective into all their work. This position works in the Counseling unit at the HCC.
The mission of the HCC is to enhance overall student well-being and success through inclusive physical and mental healthcare, prevention, education, advocacy, and recovery support services. Most shifts are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional shifts from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Physicians, nurses, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other health professionals staff the HCC. All students enrolled for academic credit (full-time or part-time, undergraduate, or graduate) may use the HCC.

Position Summary
The Psychiatry team consists of one .5 FTE psychiatric nurse practitioner (this position), one part-time psychiatrist, and our medical providers. It provides evaluation and medication management for complex students mental health needs. This role provides diagnostic and pharmacologic treatment to students, including prescribing and monitoring medication for psychiatric illnesses and educating students about their illness and medication. In addition, our psychiatric team provides consultation services to and collaborate with staff across the HCC, including counselor/therapists and medical clinicians, to ensure continuity of care for each student that utilizes our services. This position plans and leads a psychopharmacology case consultation/training seminar two times a month for 10-14 mental health trainees. After-hours work and coverage for the second psychiatrist as needed.
When needed, this position will also assist with managing psychiatric emergencies.

Work Schedule
This is a .50 FTE, benefited position. During the busier academic weeks (30 to 33 weeks a year), this schedule position works three days a week and has a reduced schedule or alternating/off weeks during holidays/summers/school breaks. Hours of operation are: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some after-hours crisis consultation may be necessary. This position does not require weekends, evenings or holidays, and includes a generous benefits package. This position may opt into extended hours shifts as desired.
The minimum number of hours in any given week is about 18, some weeks will be zero, and the annual hours is 1044

The salary grade for the position is 14.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $55,000-$60,000

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
