Conference & Event Services (CES) delivers exceptional service, resources, and support to events on the University of Denver (DU) campus. CES provides services to clients for the exploration, discussion, and enactment of issues and topics germane to a variety of important areas that include civic, political, non-profit, educational, and business.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director, Summer Operations is a critical role responsible for ensuring the success of summer housing, dining, and meeting operations, including sales, scheduling, client retention, and summer conference app management. This position will work closely with campus and external vendors, as well as the university community, to facilitate seamless internal and external event production. The Assistant Director will serve as the initial point of communication for all summer programming, and they will be responsible for developing contracts with the clients. Additionally, this position will supervise one part-time position and designated student event staff.
The Assistant Director will make excellent service a priority to ensure high-quality service with clients, campus and external service partners, subcontractors, consultants, and DU staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning programs. They will have excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively with others, and excellent creative problem-solving skills. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Events and will be responsible for making decisions on hiring, disciplinary action, and pay adjustments as it pertains to summer programming. This is a benefited position expected to work approximately 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible/hybrid work schedule where applicable. Some support for evening or weekend events will be required.

This is a benefited position expected to work approximately 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible/hybrid work schedule where applicable. Some support for evening or weekend events will be required.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 10.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
