The Director of Development and Associate Dean (Director) will be responsible for leading and executing comprehensive fundraising efforts
for the Division of the Humanities. The Director will design and implement holistic strategies and build meaningful relationships with
stakeholders and to identify, cultivate, and solicit annual, major, and principal gifts from the Division’s most
important donors and prospects in collaboration with the Dean, University leadership, and development colleagues.
This role is a
unique opportunity to partner with a new dean to build upon past successes while envisioning and developing a new structure to grow support
for and engagement with the division into the future. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Development, Humanities, and
the Arts and with a dotted line to the Dean of the Division of Humanities, the Director is a senior member of the ARD Humanities and the
Arts Directors cohort and a member of the Division’s senior leadership team.
The job manages a team of
professional staff responsible for programs designed to meet University fundraising goals for contributed income. Manages relationships with
alumni, faculty, administrators, and organizations with potential to make gifts in support of the University. Develops communication
strategies for projects and contributes to the development of larger advancement strategies.
