The Opportunity:
The Utility Billing Analyst I position is responsible for utility data collection, billing administration and analysis, and management of over $23 million of university utility billing data from utility provider accounts and campus meters.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Coordinates, plans, and manages the monthly energy data collection and departmental cost recovery processing of over $23 million in utility data for the university.
Manages the data in the EnergyCAP Enterprise energy management system for all university related bill data, savings, commodity tracking, and complex billing allocations and distributions.
Manages and maintains an accurate and timely collection of over 650+ energy (electric, gas, chilled water, hot water), water, sewer and irrigation meters for communication and analysis for each individual University building and/or site, reviewing the data for errors and/or inefficiencies.
Manages and analyzes the monthly utility provider accounts and validation of complex recoveries.
Coordinates with and develops processes with Business Office for all transactions related to data flow/collection, departmental cost recovery and energy projects savings recovery initiatives.
Analyzes and performs daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual quality control audits and forensic review for data reliability, quality assurance, and data retention for all departmental utility streams.
Creates complex reports and data sets for various projects, departmental initiatives, or annual reporting to Board of Governors or university administration
Creates and manages unit-level purchase orders, credit card transactions and reports for energy projects or critical utility related infrastructure needs.
Processes system audits and analysis of results for monthly energy and cost data.
Reviews and reports suspect problem entries, errors, or transactions to ensure accurate data retention and accuracy for departmental and customer level needs.
Interprets existing energy initiatives and requirements, policies, and procedures for compliance with governmental, departmental, and internal data requests.
Works with interdepartmental engineers and supervision to validate, analyze and ensure energy savings projects and processes.
Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to management and organization of digital file storage needs for sensitive utility and energy-related documents for restricted departmental access only.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
General understanding of Energy/Units and General Utilities knowledge.
Experienced in Workday use/functionality.
Experienced with MS Office, with medium-to-advanced Excel experience (pivot tables and charts, conditional functions/statements).
Competency with use of 10-key.
Familiarity and understanding of general maintenance and utility related terms and nomenclature.

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license (regular license). The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
