The Opportunity:
The Facilities Operations department is seeking to hire multiple High Performance Work Team, Housekeeper I roles. Candidates for this job posting will be considered for additional vacancies in this department. These positions provide essential on-site support for the operational maintenance and sanitation of campus buildings in an effort to provide a safe, functional, clean, efficient, and attractive living and learning environment. The Housekeeper I is responsible for cleaning to standard of assigned areas, troubleshooting issues, providing service for, and responding to, requests from customers and staff including unforeseen situations or emergencies. At this level the employee has basic custodial knowledge and skills, and assists with basic maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
Surface cleaning of both horizontal and vertical surfaces including, but not limited to, dusting, wiping, and scrubbing of furniture, walls, and equipment.
Vacuum carpeted areas, including moving/replacing furniture, and spot cleaning as needed.
Sweep and dry/wet mop floors, stairwells, entries, and other flooring.
Waste Removal, including both trash and recycling.
Clean and stock restroom and other common use facilities.
Shampoo/Extract carpeted areas and/or upholstery.
Perform and assist with basic maintenance tasks such as painting, replacing light bulbs, and carpet or ceiling tiles.
Respond to emergencies/urgent requests such as water events, BBP cleanup, and/or limited air quality clean up.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of 9th grade. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to stand for up to eight hours, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to work safely in an environment containing EH&S approved chemicals, dust, and noise.
Ability to work under varied environmental conditions.
Ability to understand and follow written/oral instructions, read schedules, work requests, and assignments, and adapt and adhere to training processes.
Ability to interact with and respond to customer inquiries and requests.
Basic decision making abilities.
Ability to understand and learn basic maintenance tasks.
Health Assessment Required:
UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
