Career Services (CS) provides comprehensive career services and programs to assist a diverse student population in developing, evaluating, and effectively initiating and implementing career, education, and employment decisions and plans through collaborative internal partnerships with UCF administrators, faculty, and staff, as well as effective external partnerships with key employers.
The UCF Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP) allows undergraduate and graduate students to gain real-world work skills and abilities relevant to their academic and career goals. CWEP is a unique, year-round paid opportunity to have hands-on learning experiences.
The Opportunity:
UCF Career Services seeks a Career Services Coordinator to join their team! This position directly supports the recruiting and marketing efforts for the UCF Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP). For over 40 years UCF and Lockheed Martin have partnered to offer this program that allows undergraduate and graduate students to gain real-world work skills and abilities relevant to their academic and career goals. CWEP is a unique, year-round paid opportunity to have hands-on learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
Manage applicant tracking system use and HR processing for the CWEP Program.
Coordinate and process orientation and on-boarding requirements.
Serve as CWEP payroll timekeeper, submit, and manage CWEP requisitions in Workday.
Run monthly background checks for CWEP.
Serve as the main point of contact for prospective CWEP students assisting the Program Manager as needed.
Build and maintain relationships across campus with on-campus organizations, as well as build relationships with CWEP alumni.
Conduct interviews with current and former CWEPs to garner feedback on the program as well as gauge interest on who would be interested in participating with recruiting events.
Utilize social media profiles to market the program (Facebook, lnstagram) and collaborating with the Career Services team with other online opportunities (i.e. Reddit/AMAs).
Present virtually or in-person for classroom presentations and events as a guest speaker.
Assist with networking and marketing events and other campus outreach opportunities to promote growth, expansion, and the culture of the CWEP program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Higher Education (can include OPS or other professional experience) and/or knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and other local, state, and federal laws pertaining to employment.
Proven communication and customer service skills, particularly in a fast-paced environment with diverse groups (students, staff, faculty, and employers).
Experience working with databases such as Handshake, or Workday.
Organization skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, plan, and meet deadlines.
Experience working independently, managing/supervising staff, and working with self-directed teams.
Proven aptitude for developing and maintaining relationships, strong team member skills.
