The Opportunity:
The Division of Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Student Success and Well-Being Communications, Marketing, and Engagement.
Reporting to the AVP for Strategic Initiatives, this position will play a crucial role in developing and coordinating internal and external messaging in support of the University’s student success and well-being goals. The position will oversee development, implementation, and coordination of student facing communications and marketing efforts designed to enhance student success and well-being efforts, including continuum of care and support, retention, progression, completion, and launch to post-graduate education or career. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for effectively communicating UCF’s student success and well-being story with external audiences, elevating UCF’s national profile. The successful candidate will be a robust and inclusive team player, who serves as a creative and strategic thought partner with exceptional communication and marketing skills, and a strong understanding of higher education.

Responsibilities:
Student-Facing Communications Coordination:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to support student success and well-being initiatives, services, and offerings at UCF.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders, including academic advising, the persistence committee, UCF Connect, enrollment services, well-being partners, and other stakeholders to coordinate and optimize communication efforts aimed at improving student retention, progression, completion, and launch to post-graduate education or career.
* Create and manage a student success and well-being communications calendar to ensure timely and relevant messaging.
* Utilize various channels, such as email, social media, website, and mobile applications, to effectively deliver targeted communications to UCF students.
* Leverage innovative technologies, including AI assisted chatbot tools, to build a best-in-class student success and well-being communications ecosystem.
Student Success and Well-Being Program Promotion:
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop promotional materials and campaigns for student success and well-being programs, initiatives, services, and resources.
* Design and implement innovative strategies to engage and motivate students to take advantage of available support services and programs.
* Coordinate with campus partners communicate information regarding success events, workshops, and informational sessions.
External Communication:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, educational partners, and relevant organizations to promote UCF’s student success and well-being initiatives.
* Craft compelling narratives and success stories highlighting UCF’s student achievements, outcomes, and impact.
* Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure consistent branding and messaging across external communications related to student success and well-being.
* Monitor and analyze external communications metrics to measure the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
Internal Communication:
* Assist senior leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy to support internal communication, including messaging to support enhancement of workplace culture and awareness of key goals, initiatives, and information.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders to coordinate and optimize communications efforts.
* Utilize various channels, such as email, social media, website, and other formats to effectively deliver targeted communications to Division and University staff.
* Support change management through strategic communications efforts
Effectiveness:
* Stay informed about current trends and best practices in student success and well-being communications within higher education.
* Partner with campus data analytics, research, evaluation, and assessment professionals and teams to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
* Collaborate with institutional research teams to gather relevant data and evaluate the impact of communication efforts on student success and well-being outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge of student success and well-being initiatives, best practices, and current trends in higher education.
* Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating and implementing communication strategies across multiple channels.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
* Experience in media relations and public speaking is desirable.
* Proficiency in utilizing digital communication tools and platforms.
