Brief Summary of Job Duties
The Max Wilson research lab assistant manager is responsible for the general safety, cleanliness, organization, and the overall smooth functioning of the lab. The position also has some light administrative duties. The positions also acts as an initial contact link between Professor Wilson and the lab, supporting communication between the Principal Investigator, academic researchers, students, and research admin staff in ICB and other relevant departments.
Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
50% Lab Support & Maintenance: Takes inventory and orders supplies. Maintains lab equipment. Organizes lab equipment and supplies. Maintains knowledge of particular lab techniques to support senior lab members in experiments.
25% Research Support: Prepares and submits research-related Concur reimbursements as a delegate on a as needed basis. Communicates completion status of lab progress and facilitates questions between lab members and PI.
15% Lab Safety Support: In conjunction with Principal Investigator and senior academics, keeps lab in compliance with safety regulations at university, state and federal level. Prepares lab for safety inspections.
10% Training: Provide training in cell culture, cloning techniques for new lab members.
