Hiring/Budgeted Salary or Hourly Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $56,700-$66,900/yr.
Full Salary Range: The full salary range for this position is $55,100-$97,500/yr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University.
Work Location: Student Resource Building-2100B
Working Days and Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm; occasional evening and weekend hours

Brief Summary of Job Duties
Member of the Orientation Programs office which operates 16 Orientation sessions each summer and sees approximately 9,500 new students and their family members. The Orientation office is a member of the Division of Student Affairs and a tenant of the Student Resource Building at UC Santa Barbara. The Associate Director is also a member of the Student Resource Building operations group, and is responsible for advising the SRB Governance Board on policy. Additionally, the Associate Director is the primary supervisor of two student program assistants and 26-30 orientation student staff members; is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of orientation staff members; is a member of the professional staff team responsible for the implementation and supervision of the summer Orientation Program including presentations, program logistics and event implementation; serves as a liaison to various campus departments on behalf of the program; represents the program to constituencies.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
* 1-3 years College student leadership development
* 1-3 years connecting students with campus and community resources that enhance their academic and co-curricular experience
* 1-3 years Event planning/coordination
* 1-3 years Experience in a customer service role within an academic environment.
* 1-3 years Experience in working with diverse communities and across multiple identities and respect and consideration for all identities, perspectives, and differences.
* 1-3 years Experience managing and supervising administrative and student employees.
* Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
* Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.
* Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree.
* 1-3 years Experience in a higher education academic setting highly preferred.
* Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
* Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
