Job Summary
Functions as a program manager or administrator of a psychiatric center or clinic.
Leads in planning and coordinating the work of a multidisciplinary treatment staff and research team. Establishes short and long-term program goals; revises / implements new procedures; conducts training for professional and paraprofessional staff members; and provides psychotherapeutic treatment with emphasis on the most severely disturbed and high risk cases.
Clinical trial Study Psychologist (Lead Session Monitor): Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, and in collaboration with the Medical Monitor, Co-Investigators (Co-I’s), Clinical Research Coordinators, and the assistant session monitors, this uniquely experienced provider will conduct manualized psychedelic drug-assisted therapy sessions and non-drug assisted sessions according to the study protocol as a Lead Session Monitor. They will clinically attend to study participants as they undergo experimental drug treatment sessions, which includes the taking of vital signs, completing instruments to assess participant behavior, and intervening with verbal support or reaching out to the on-site medical provider in case of a psychiatric or medical emergency. Involves patient/research services for a range of mental health disorders, often severe including major depressive disorders, paranoia, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. Settings may be inpatient, outpatient or clinical research studies. Patient care may be provided by a combination of licensed clinicians, as well as counselors and crisis intervention specialists. Patients typically require routine assistance, treatment or a specialized and controlled environment. Primary emphasis on treatment and attempt where possible to help patients control their own lives in the outside world, with the use of a combination of psychiatric drugs and psychotherapy. Primary emphasis on clinical research trials in a medically complicated patient population, with the use of a combination of Schedule 1 psychedelic drugs and psychotherapy. Works with a multidisciplinary team to train and supervise other physicians and clinicians to conduct psychedelic drug-assisted sessions and treatment protocols in a research setting. Due to the medically complicated nature of the patient population they work with a team of diverse physicians and clinicians to meet the needs of the patient population undergoing the treatment protocol. Directly trains and supervises assistant session monitors on the proper procedures and implementation of psychedelic assisted therapies and facilitation.
