Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the
University of California Riverside Health (UCR Health), the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is responsible for leading and managing major goals
/ implementation plans to support strategic objectives and large-scale, complex projects that are of critical importance to the organization
and have substantial consequences of success or failure. Works in conjunction with senior leadership to recommend and execute strategies
that leverage academic and clinical programs, contribute to clinical growth, increase patient volume, minimize risk and maximize return on
investment. Contributes to long term strategy for business development, network development, and affiliation activities.
Applies
expert knowledge of strategy, affiliations and partnerships to formulate and facilitate strategic growth projects and initiatives.
Problem-solves unique issues, often without precedent and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Serves as a liaison with internal and
external stakeholders. The position will work closely with CEO, consultants, and finance, to identify joint business opportunities to
increase customer value and drive revenue growth. Involves identifying, building and nurturing strong, lasting relationships with new and
existing clients that fully leverage UCR Health capabilities and lead to growth opportunities. Will also implement the strategic and
business development efforts at affiliated hospitals/health systems to generate new business and increase customer value and drive revenue
growth. This includes creating the processes by which the organization will conduct its strategic planning and annual plan review processes.
Identifying and quantifying new business opportunities and working with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive value proposition that
will include appropriate data by which senior leadership can make informed decisions regarding investment requests.
The incumbent in
this position serves as an expert in strategy, affiliations and partnerships, community physician outreach and community benefit. The CSO
works closely with the CEO, COO, CMO and Executive Team to guide strategy formulation. The CSO also supports planning for marketing and
program implementation across the academic/clinical service interface by developing dynamic, multi-year projections, based on an
understanding of clinical trends, new research directions, and fiscal limitations.
The full salary range for this position is $221.2K
– $467.8K annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and
other business and organizational needs.

Selected candidates will be required to

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent
experience / training.Required
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a closely related

Experience Requirements
A minimum of 10 years of experience must be in healthcare setting
(provider segments; strategic and business planning; market assessment, basic finance/budget principles); and demonstrated experience in
healthcare leadership, clinical operations, or related services in an executive level capacity with business development, care-provider,
insurance strategies and marketing focus. Required

* Partner with the operating
leadership teams to cascade strategies and direct linkages through affiliate business plans, dashboard measurement and budget processes.
Identify opportunities for new business proposals and product expansion, ROIs, complete with conducting feasibility studies and risk
analysis in collaboration with operating executives. -Coordinate and align market-driven growth across assigned affiliates and corresponding
operating units while aligning the enterprise growth strategy. -Responsible for partnership alignment both internally and externally. Ensure
seamless transition for patients, patient families and physicians. -Assist in the implementation of a joint governance framework between UCR
Health and affiliated organizations that promotes and monitors physician performance, quality, utilization, operational performance,
financials, patient flow, physician experience and patient satisfaction. -Enterprise Planning Work: – Conducts volume/budget forecasting for
clinical enterprise – Capacity management scenarios / space optimization modeling – Collaborate with other leaders in the growth strategy

capital, and other resource requirements.
Develops and implements long term goals and objectives to increase hospital affiliations,
medical group relationships, physician alliances, strategic partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions. Develops and maintains
relationships in the community and industry. Provides data driven strategies to support strategic decision making across the organization.
Promotes the use of data analytics to drive informed decisions. Develops plans based on in depth knowledge of hospital and healthcare
