Department Overview
As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
Position Summary
The UCOP Middleware Operations team is new, dedicated team focused on application, release, and support of UCOP’s middleware systems. The team is searching for an energetic, self-starter to serve in a new Senior Middleware Release Manager role. The role coordinates release program activities and functions as a subject matter expert in release management. The candidate will use Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD) methodology to deploy code, update configurations to a Windows ecosystem. Familiarity with Sagitec’s NeoDeploy, NeoTracker, AWS Code Commit and AWS Code Build tools in support of Release Management activities is a plus. The candidate should be proficient in at least one of the following scripting languages; Microsoft PowerShell, Ansible Python and/or Puppet Ruby in support of automating release management activities. The role collaborates with numerous members and cross-functional teams in providing support and operation management/maintenance of the existing infrastructure and components. Must be willing to be on-call after hours and on the weekends.
Key Responsibilities
50% Analyzing, deploying, developing, modifying, installing, testing, and maintaining middleware system software and code releases. Responsibilities include; deploying code, automating code releases, evaluating vendor supplied software packages and making recommendations to IT management, providing system administration of Microsoft servers; analyzing system logs, identifying potential issues with production applications and services.
20% Perform detailed analysis of unit and user needs, documentation of requirements, risk assessment and translation into proper system and process requirement specifications. Standardize and improve scalability, stability, efficiency, costs and security for the diverse implementations and associated components hosted both On Prem and in AWS.
20% Utilize excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Elicit, communicate, present, and train technical and non- technical team members with information in a clear and concise manner.
10% Understand and apply industry, community, department and unit practices, standards, policies, and procedures in depth. May serve as technical lead for a team of IT professionals working on multiple projects of moderate to broad scope.

* Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution.
* Advanced experience writing and editing the most complex scripts used to perform system maintenance and administration.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with design, configuration, operation, repair, and tuning of technology systems.
* Familiarity with Sagitec’s NeoDeploy and NeoTracker tools in support of Release Management activities is a plus.
