Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Boyer Hall Administrative Supervisor and the Program Chair, coordinate, plan and implement all administrative and programmatic support to ensure the optimal functioning of the Molecular
Biology Interdepartmental Ph.D. Program (MBIDP). The incumbent is the primary advisor to continuing students and faculty mentors regarding University and program policies and procedures governing graduate education. The incumbent tracks timely completion of program requirements and prepares all relevant time-to-degree
materials. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all MOL BIO courses. Counsel individual students at all stages of the program and assist students in filing their thesis. Duties also include managing databases to track graduate student support stipends, fee payments and awards, coordinating the bi-monthly student seminar series and working with campus groups to plan other presentations and events to support student success. The MBIDP is a 5-year PhD program with 170 students enrolled and receiving over 600 applications per year. Students in the program are affiliated with one of four “Home Areas”
Special Instructions:
Starting salary range is expected to be $62,000 – $68,000 annually based on experience.
