Position Description:
The Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST) seeks a Senior Statistician for ELPA21, an innovative, national student assessment system serving nearly 300,000 English Learners in grades K-12. Under the general supervision of the ELPA21 Principal Methodologist, the Senior Statistician will contribute to the conceptualization and development of research designs and analytic methods for studies that advance knowledge and best practices in the instruction and assessment of English Learners (ELs), including those ELs with disabilities and the most significant cognitive disabilities. The Senior Statistician will also supervise projects done by graduate students, and will conduct data gathering and statistical analyses, and
ELPA21 prioritizes deepening the connection between assessment, research, and instructional practice, making assessment inclusive and meaningful, and honoring the culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds of English learners and the contributions they bring to schools and communities.
This position is eligible to be remote if the incumbent lives outside of the Los Angeles metro area. Travel to UCLA or conferences will be required 4-6 times a year.
Special Instructions:
The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $7,500 monthly.
