Position Description:
The Senior Research Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and administration of the campus conflict of interest program with special responsibilities for administration of the faculty-based Conflict of Interest Review Committee (CIRC). The Senior Research Compliance Analyst reports to the campus Conflict of Interest Manager and supports the COI Manager in promoting compliance with State of California conflict of interest regulations, federal and University of California policies and procedures. In coordination with the COI Manager, the incumbent monitors and reviews disclosures made by individual investigators to determine whether further review by the CIRC is warranted, and is engaged in ongoing effort to provide education and guidance to the campus community on complying with conflict of interest regulations and policies.
The Senior Research Compliance Analyst communicates consistently and works collaboratively with the campus community, requiring a high degree of tact and the ability to quickly develop a professional rapport with constituents. The Senior Research Compliance Analyst should be able to demonstrate good judgment, work autonomously, and resolve a wide range of compliance issues.
Research Policy & Compliance (RPC) provides leadership in shaping, interpreting, and implementing federal, state, UC and UCLA research-related policies, procedures and guidance. The office provides the campus community with advice and guidance on matters related to the application of research policies, especially those pertaining to conflict of interest, research misconduct, research and other activities related to use of cannabis, and federal export control regulations.
