Position Description:
The Hammer Museum seeks an Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to develop, manage, and maintain an integrated, multi- platform communications and marketing program to promote the Museum’s collections, exhibitions, programs, special initiatives, and grow the overall audience attendance and visibility. Responsibilities include overseeing the creation and implementation of all advertising efforts including print and digital advertising campaigns, social media, and email marketing; overseeing the development, production, and distribution of all marketing materials; managing the department marketing budget; and maintaining strategic alliances with media outlets and other cultural institutions for broader reach and greater impact. The ideal candidate will have superb writing and copy editing skills, balanced with the ability to collect and analyze market research and audience demographics to gauge effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts. The Associate Director reports to the Chief Communications Officers and manages a team of four, including a digital communications manager and three graphic designers. The Associate Director or members of their team may also supervise part-time UCLA students and interns.
The Associate Director works closely with colleagues throughout the institution to help articulate core messages that enhance the Museum’s identity, and express the Hammer’s position as a dynamic cultural institution.
Special Instructions:
The target salary for this position is between the posted minimum and $95K annually ($7,916.67 monthly).
