This position serves as an Executive Assistant Level 3 for the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), ensuring seamless operation across multiple groups. The incumbent is responsible for administrative operations, and business office practices within the UC Davis Health VC/CEO’s administration.
This position engages with and provides logistical support to the CCO as well as the cohort of visitors to the suite including COOs, clinicians, academic leadership, recruitment candidates, people in private industry, and other constituencies. This position is directly responsible for enabling positive encounters between the CCO and these groups. Provides direct analytical and organization support for projects initiated by the CCO and others. This position also provides senior staff support for the CCO.
The incumbent is expected to utilize initiative, judgment, and discretion in researching, analyzing and compiling necessary background information to assist management in responding to a wide variety of complex issues; researches issues and initiates an array of correspondence on behalf of the CCO; independently assumes responsibility for issues that do not require the executive leader’s involvement; applying problem-solving techniques to resolve various situations, and provides referrals to appropriate offices and authorities; must be familiar with UC policies and procedures to review all forms which require approval of the executive leader.
As principal support to the CCO, the incumbent responds through verbal and/or written communication to a wide variety of inquiries through interactions with faculty, staff, and the highest levels of Health System, Campus and University administration, including the Office of the Vice President for Health Affairs and the Chancellor’s Office; manages complex electronic calendars of the executive, independently committing each to action, determining priorities of meetings and resolving scheduling conflicts; provides support for meetings and travel.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Human Health Sciences and CEO of UC Davis Health supports the executive leadership functions of the UC Davis Health system. The Office supports the CEO, and other C-level leaders in the organization by planning schedules, special events, providing administrative support, and coordination between the executive leaders at the health system level. The Office helps to ensure all parts of the health system (inpatient, outpatient, physicians, schools, and staff) are working together, and that leaders from multiple areas of executive responsibility are able to perform their assigned oversight and responsibility duties with capable and knowledgeable administrative and executive support.
