Summary of Job Duties:*Conduct laboratory and field experiments to investigate the biogeochemistry of soil organic matter in different ecosystems.
*Analyze soil samples for chemical and isotopic compositions, as well as microbial community composition.
*Demonstrated skills in various analytical tools for small molecule characterizations.
*Develop and use models to predict soil organic matter dynamics under different scenarios.
*Keep up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in laboratory instrument maintenance.
*Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research results at conferences and meetings.
*Regular travel to collaborative institutions is required.
*The Postdoc will be also responsible for supervising graduate and undergraduate students in research activities, as well as writing research proposals and grant applicationsQualifications:
Ph.D. in soil science, biogeochemistry, environmental science, or a related field. Strong background in soil organic matter dynamics and biogeochemistry. Experience with analytical methods for soil organic matter characterization, such as stable isotopes, spectroscopy, HPLC or GC. Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
