Position Highlights | The Research Technician will assist with the planning and execution of broad scope of ACABI Lab driven, government funded and industry sponsored cardiovascular studies involving human and animal subjects that require the application of scientific knowledge, experience, and extensive wet-lab skills. The Research Technician will be responsible for conducting experiments in a biomedical research laboratory (BCL-2), data collection and management, statistical analysis, and preparation of presentations, annual reports, and manuscripts. The Research Technician will work collaboratively with the principle investigator, Dr. Marvin Slepian, MD. , ACABI senior researchers, and independently on the assigned research projects. The candidate should possess advanced wet-lab skills and familiarity with basic methods and techniques used in biomedical laboratories, including flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, microscopy, routine hematology tests and enzymatic assays, and maintaining cell culture. They will be also responsible for collection and processing of biological samples, including blood, plasma, and serum. The Research Technician will set up and operate laboratory equipment, prepare reagents and stock solutions, and perform daily in vitro experiments. The Research Technician will help to assure the validity of the results obtained by ensuring the operational condition of lab equipment, maintaining protocols and SOPs, purchasing materials and supplies, and managing the efficient use of the lab’s resources.
