Department/Organization: 208185 – Brewer Porch Children’s Center

Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; limited nights and weekends

Job Summary: The Employee Services Coordinator for Brewer Porch Children’s Center will be responsible for managing and tracking information regarding employees.

Additional Department Summary: The Employee Services Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of staff recruitment, onboarding, and development for the Brewer-Porch Children’s Center (BPCC). Follows established UA Human Resources guidelines to manage staff hiring processes for department. Reviews and updates job descriptions, posts open jobs, screens and interviews applicants, submits job offers for approval. Completes reference checks and background screenings per UA and departmental policies. Coordinates onboarding and training activities for new employees. Maintains all department personnel files, manages position funding, and monitors timekeeping and payroll activities for department staff.

The Employee Services Coordinator serves as a member of the BPCC leadership team, and works directly with organization leadership to develop workforce strategies that create a positive employee experience and support the department’s strategic goals. This position is the primary liaison for BPCC and UA Human Resources, selected departments within the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS), as well as other UA departments and relevant community agencies.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in a staff development, recruitment support, or other human resources-related role.

Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates who are not current Brewer-Porch Children’s Center employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative. Working knowledge of standard office software applications, including Microsoft Office. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. Strong oral and written communication skills. Skill in organizing work to achieve department goals and objectives.

Excellent communication public relations, customer service and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected information and the requirement to follow HIPPA regulations at all times.

Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years of experience in a staff development, recruitment support, or other human resources-related role. State of Alabama-Tuscaloosa County Notary Public preferred. Experience with University recruitment policies and procedures and systems (i.e. Banner, Everest, PageUp), or other applicant tracking system preferred. Previous experience working in K-12 educational or healthcare environment preferred.
