Responsibilities for HR / payroll

• Developing, recommending and implementing HR policies and procedures ensuring all policies and procedures are in compliance with federal and state laws
• Helping with the implementation of policies and procedures
• Timekeeper Administration – add/drop employees to the payroll system and edit existing employee records
• Payroll system maintenance – data entry for new hires, leaves, transfers, terminations, time off on a weekly basis
• Process and verify payment of payroll invoices
• Manage insurance policies, town and state licenses
• May take part in organizing departmental training sessions to develop and empower staff
• Work with HR to ensure new hires, terminations and related employee changes paperwork (FLSA status, compensation, FMLA administration, part-and full-time status) and action items are processed timely and accurately
• Answering employee requests, concerns and questions about their paychecks
• Entering Wage Garnishments, Employee Deductions and Direct deposit requests
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, including benefits and taxes compliant with Federal and State wage and hour laws
• Critically review and analyze current payroll practices and procedures in order to recommend and implement positive changes and solutions
• Manage the employee recruitment and hiring processes, including recruitment, pre-employment screens and general employee orientation

Qualifications for HR / payroll

• Prior experience in payroll/HR/Office Admin
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on work assignments with minimal supervision
• Proficient with Excel and Outlook and general Computer proficiency
• Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent some college or technical training preferred
• A degree in accounting, business, finance or other affiliated courses
• A minimum of two-three years experience in payroll/HR role
• Outstanding dexterity and aptitude in verbal, writing, and organizational functions
• Display of professionalism in maintaining confidentiality
• Display of dexterity and empathy in functioning in a sequential work environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
