Summary
The program coordinator is integral toa
team that provides communication, programming, and services to encourage thesuccessful transition of all first-year students to Tulane
University.Specifically, this position supports the first-year experience team in theplanning and execution of orientation initiatives
designed to promote theacademic success of all first-year students, to root them in the academiccampus culture, and to improve student
persistence. Additionally, the programcoordinator oversees the experiential learning opportunities, and accompanyingfaculty support, of a
required first-year seminar program, with the aim ofconnecting course content to the New Orleans community. This person alsoarranges the
faculty hiring, course scheduling, and fiscal monitoring of these135+ seminars. Last, this position supervises a small team of student
interns,providing monthly career conversations and guidance.
