The IT Support Specialist maintains computer network and systems by providing technical support for end users, installing hardware and software systems, diagnosing networking issues, installing upgrades, and resolving other IT issues. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Provides remote Help Desk technical support and training for all company users.

2. Administers, and maintains end users in Windows AD, Azure and Office365 and all connected devices, and peripherals.

3. Maintains servers, e-mail, print, internal services, ERP, knowledge base, and asset tracking.

4. Documents, and complies to hardware/software installation, and troubleshooting procedures.

5. Maintains all network hardware, and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.

6. Interacts with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to procure network products and services.

7. Maintains and verify backup, security solutions, intrusion, and detection systems.

8. Participates in development of department policy, procedures, and documentation.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate’s degree in the field of computer science with a focus on network design, and administration, or 2 years work experience.

• Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including MS Windows from XP to current release, and Windows Server from 2012 to current release.

• Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including hardware RAID, Active Directory, TCP/IP.

• Able to install, support, and troubleshoot server and PC hardware components and peripherals.

• Basic working knowledge of MS Server, MS Office Suite, Office365, Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Group Policy.

• Basic skills for supporting Ethernet/IP networks, for desktop, mobile, and IP telephony.

• Basic skills in IT research, and problem-solving.

• Working technical knowledge of ESXi, VMware, Veeam, Cisco switches and WLAN.

• Knowledge of MS WPKG, SQL, PowerShell, C#, JAVA, PHP, HTML/CSS an asset.
