TriMet in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Senior Specialist, Technical Support- Service Desk to maintain and monitor end-user workstations and productivity on an enterprise network. They perform a variety of maintenance, software installation, all tiers of PC support and training tasks, to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet agency and user requirements.
The Senior Specialist works to set up, maintain and support agency mobile devices. They set up, support and maintain group policy, System Center Configuration Manager, PDQ Deploy, PDQ Inventory, Provide Scripting as needed and manage network print servers. This position provides technical support to staff on all company-supported applications.
Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting computer problems, determining sources and advising on appropriate actions. The Senior Specialist, Technical Support also works to research new software packages and automation packages and implement them.

Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of TriMet’s product and service offerings.
Essential Functions
1. Provide all tiers of technical and analytical user support, including user interaction, problem diagnosis and resolution, hardware and software installation, testing, upgrades and expansions.
2. Install, upgrade, configure, test, maintain and support operating system software such as MS Windows, MS Office, Adobe, Oracle.
3. Test, evaluate, track and document requests for hardware and software; research and recommend solutions to user technology needs compatible with the current architectures and infrastructure.
4. Oversee mid-level projects including developing formal project plans, scope, timeline, costs, and implementation.
5. Provide application packaging, scripting, and distribution; perform security patches, and manage images.
6. Create, oversee, and manage vendor contracts, invoices, and purchase orders in connection with agency projects and initiatives.
7. Monitor adherence to agency standards and policies regarding the use of microcomputer hardware and software.
Position Requirements
A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration is preferred.
A minimum of four (4) years total credited experience.*
Four (4) years of experience in providing microcomputer user support in a corporate environment, including contract and project management, are required.
Possession of a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license and good driving record in line with TriMet policy is required.
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
*The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the “credited experience”.
