The Center for Literacy, Education & Employment (CLEE) is seeking to hire a full-time Coordinator II- Training Coordinator. This grant funded position provides professional development services for the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services (TN DHS/DRS). In this role the Training Coordinator develops and presents virtual training for the staff of the state agency and the community organizations that provide employment services for people with disabilities. This position provides the option to work from a home office and some travel may be required. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance skills and implement best practices among professionals working to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities served by TN DHS/DRS.
Responsibilities:
· Utilize skills in conducting virtual training for adult learners who are professionals in the field of rehabilitation and workforce development.
· Work with supervisor, UT CLEE team, and TN DHS/DRS staff to conduct innovative, introductory training for newly registered community rehabilitation provider (CRP) agencies, new CRP staff, and Vocational Rehabilitation stakeholders that develops the basic skills necessary for providing employment and support services for people with disabilities.
· Work with TN DHS/DRS staff to develop and deliver continuing education training including disability and employment related topics to build the skills and capacity of professionals in this field.
· Provide training and technical assistance to promote the delivery of competitive integrated employment services using person centered practices.
· Work with funding agency, TN DHS/DRS, to stay knowledgeable of agency program information, and guidelines for the provision of services.
· Maintain knowledge in the areas of current best practices in working with a variety of disability types within employment settings.
· Assist in preparing training announcements, distributing registration information, maintaining attendance records, creating reporting documentation and following-up with training participants to send training material, resources, and training certificates.
· Identify and coordinate the inclusion of guest speakers for training programs who provide expertise from community organizations, state agencies, businesses, etc.
· Provide ongoing technical assistance, consultation, and planning with the state agency staff of vocational rehabilitation professionals to enhance the employment services within the state agency.
· Participate in community, state and national activities involving stakeholders and customers to follow up on professional development, gain knowledge of current trends, and maintain partnerships in the field of disability employment.
Qualifications
Required: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
· Knowledge of workforce development for people with disabilities
· Knowledge of developing training curriculum
· Skills in effective written and verbal communication in dealing with multiple stakeholders, community and state agencies
· Skills in training, coaching and/or presenting
· Ability to remain flexible as tasks and deadlines change
· Ability to use good professional judgment in making decisions or in identifying issues to take to the supervisor
Preferred: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of a variety of disability types and best practices in providing employment services
· Ability to work independently and set priorities
· Knowledge of adult learning styles
· Knowledge of the community resources, state agencies and programs that provide services for people with disabilities to assist in the employment process
· Skills in using on-line/virtual platforms such as Google, Teams and/or Zoom
Experience: Required
· At least one to two years experience working with people who have disabilities and experience in a teaching/training role
Experience: Preferred
· At least three years in a role promoting diversity in the workforce
