Primary Purpose of Department:
As part of the Division of Research, the Office of Grants & Contracts Administration (GCA) reports directly to the Associate Vice-Chancellor within the Division of Research; in parallel with the Center for Research Excellence, Office Research Services, Research Protections and Integrity, Office of Commercialization and Development, and the Office of Research Partnerships
Primary Purpose of Position:
As Assistant Director, Compliance and Reporting and back up to the Director, the position provides sponsored project management from budget approval to project closeout in post-award service teams supporting campus colleges, departments, and units. This position advises and assists faculty and department staff; ensures compliance with appropriate federal, agency, state, and university regulations, policies and procedures; and administers sponsored projects for fiscal and programmatic compliance.
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Provide administrative oversight and guidance to the Office of Research Services, colleges, and departments for budgets, labor distribution, expenditures, cost sharing, project deliverables, and regulatory compliance. Provide training to the campus in subject matters related to post-award management of sponsored funds. Independently review and approve expenditures in accordance with sponsor guidelines. Provide assistance to principal investigators, project directors, and staff. Serve on UNC Charlotte committees as a liaison for the post-award office in GCA. Review the work of others. Minimum Education/Experience:
Masters and 1-2 yrs experience; Bachelors and 2-4 yrs experience; or equivalent education/experience.
